New Ninja Turtles Movie Still Looks Like Dumb Fun
I stand by my enjoyment of the first Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. It’s big, dumb fun starring some of my all-time favorite characters. The Ninja Turtles have been re-invented so many times over the decades that what’s one more? Hopefully the sequel will be just as fun.
I especially like what I see from Bebop and Rocksteady! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will come out on June 3.

The Current Ninja Turtles Cartoon Is Everything One Could Want From the Ninja Turtles
Back in the 1980s, the Ninja Turtles were my jam. I watched all the cartoons, from Real Ghostbusters to Transformers to G.I. Joe. But The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were my #1. And I’m under no impression that those old cartoons hold up today. That’s why I open my mind to accept all the new and different versions of the Turtles. I love the IDW comics, I enjoy the Michael Bay movies, and I’m a huge fan of the cartoon on Nickelodeon. Not only is it a fun series, but there’s rich in Turtles lore and tributes!
And now they’re going full tilt, with an insane 2D/3D crossover between the Turtles of now and the Turtles of old! Here’s a clip!
If only the Michael Bay Turtle movies were this clever. And that’s the original voice actors from the 80s, too!

Glob Help Me, I Kind of Dig This New Ninja Turtles Movie Trailer!
I liked the first Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. It was silly fun, rather dumb, and actually had a really great take on the Turtles themselves. The idea that they might actually wear distinct clothing shouldn’t be this revolutionary. Well the sequel is on its way, and the first trailer was released today!
Say hello to the new Bebop and Rocksteady, y’all!
I will admit to giggling out loud multiple times during this trailer, mostly our of sheer dumbness. But man, c’mon, I’m not made of stone! And it’s not like this movie assumes it’s going to be in the Oscar race. It’s just gonna be a big, dumb, silly Ninja Turtles movie! Isn’t that what we all need in our lives sometimes?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows will premiere on June 3.

Movie Bebop and Rocksteady Are Going to Be the Most Accurate Characters Ever
I’m very excited that Bebop and Rocksteady are going to be in the new Ninja Turtles movie – but set photos have revealed that they are going to be intensely accurate characters. Check out these set photos.
That’s Gary Anthony Williams as Bebop and WWE wrestler Sheamus as Rocksteady, both before their mutations into a warthog and a rhino respectively. Just look at them. They look exactly like the classic cartoon versions of the characters, to an insane degree. There are pictures on the web of Williams even wearing the classic vest.
In a movie that finally gave the Ninja Turtles themselves unique and individual looks, why go so weirdly cartoony on Bebop and Rocksteady? Why not re-invent them as well?
I suppose it doesn’t matter in the end. I liked the first movie, and I’m excited to see them in the second! I hope they’re not too campy. The writers should read the current IDW comic book series for an amazing portrayal of Bebop and Rocksteady.

Should Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Have Even Begun?
I don’t remember if I’ve gone on record or not, but I relatively enjoyed last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie – for what it was. It wasn’t a great movie by any means, it was just another in a long line of interesting TMNT adaptations. It’s not the defining take on the Turtles. There will be many more. Regardless, it’s fodder for all our favorite movie mocking Youtube videos!
How Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should have ended.
Alas, they were so close in not including their Superman or Batman jokes. Maybe someday we’ll get a video from the HISHE people without those two…but considering a recent trailer, probably not. Personally, I’m looking forward to the sequel! It’s gonna have Bebop and Rocksteady!
