My Favorite Iron Man Armor
Today is Iron Man 3 day! The film has been getting great reviews, and I’ll be seeing it after work this afternoon. I’m very excited, and I’ll post my full review later tonight. But just to give my blog a little taste of Iron Man today, I’ve decided to share my favorite Iron Man armor!
Ever since Iron Man was created back in the 1960s, he’s had dozens of armors. Upwards of 30 are going to appear in the new movie. Tony Stark is a genius inventor, and he’s always tinkering. Plus you just have to admit that Iron Man is a pretty rad look. That red/gold style is flashy and awesome.
So what’s my favorite Iron Man armor? Join me after the jump to find out!
New Iron Man 3 Trailer is Awesome
The new Iron Man 3 trailer basically just confirms that the movie is going to be pretty awesome. The Iron Man trailers have always been great, and this one especially knows how to handle escalation. I don’t know about you, but I got chills at that ending.
Iron Man 3 is the Real Winner of the Super Bowl
I may not watch the Super Bowl or care much about sports, but I definitely love a new Iron Man 3 trailer.
Fantastic. That stuff with the airplane full of people was very exciting. Clearly someone remembers all the excitement from the first Iron Man trailer, when the scene of him flying alongside the jet planes rocked the nation. That definitely ups the energy level of the new film.
And that joke with Robert Downey Jr. at the start? Good times.
I would have liked to have seen a new Thor 2 commercial, but Iron Man 3 is definitely going to rock this year, so I’m pumped for what we got. Looks like we’ll be seeing a darker, possibly more badass Iron Man. That’s good for everybody. I really hope the film does well. Threequels are always hard to pull off, but I’m confident in the Iron man franchise and in Marvel’s ability to handle its movies. Plus I have confidence in director Shane Black, and in Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin. I have very high hopes.
Literal Iron Man 3 Trailer
Tobuscus is at it again with a Literal Iron Man 3 trailer! His videos have become some of the favorite music parodies I’ve ever posted on my blog!
Is that man a genius or what? I don’t know how well his songs actually match up to the music in the trailers, but I have to assume it’s good. He’s a lyrical master. I wish he produced more of these more often, I’d post every single one. Plus, this somehow gets me even more excited for Iron Man 3! So that’s pretty neat.
When You Stare Into the Iron Man 3, the Iron Man 3 Stares Back At You
The full trailer for Iron Man 3 has hit the Internet, and it’s actually kind of depressing.
Don’t get me wrong, it looks cool, but it also looks very, very depressing. Don’t they know that it’s the second act where the hero is supposed to be at their darkest? I fear that it may be too depressing. I’m sure everybody remembers the awesome Iron Man flying with jets moment from the very first trailer for Iron Man. That’s the kind of thing that gets people pumped for movies.
Not Tony Stark having an existential crisis. Or maybe a mid-life crisis?
Normally it might work, but I’m fairly certain I read somewhere that Marvel and Disney aren’t going to do Devil in a Bottle, the legendary Stark alcoholism story. So all of his depression comes from the awesomeness of the things he saw and did in The Avengers. At least that’s what he says in the trailer. Nice reference to the previous film, by the way. And that last shot is harrowing, but I dunno…are people going to respond positively to a dark, somber Iron Man film?
We also got to see some of the major villain in this film, the Mandarin. While I liked his narration, I don’t think it had the villainous oomph that it needed to really sell this guy’s menace. It could have done with some more, I dunno, outright villainy maybe. Still, I’m sure we can count on Ben Kingsley to pull it off. And for the record, I have zero problem with the Mandarin not being Chinese and not being called the ‘Mandarin’, if that’s the case. I’ve thought that was a silly name all the way back to the 90s Iron Man cartoon…which I’m sad has never been revived or put on DVD following the new success of the Iron Man character.
Oh well. Here’s Kingsley as the ring-slinger:
