Cosplay is Hot, Miley Cyrus is Not So Much

Stage 5 has produced an epic Miley Cyrus song parody about cosplaying. Good times.

I love me a good geeky music parody. This one is from Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop music video. Clearly this geeky comic-con cosplay parody is much better than the original. And watching this video is probably the closest I’ve ever come to listening to a Miley Cyrus song.

Speaking of cosplay, I’ll be heading to the Boston Comic-Con in early August and dressing up as an X-Men character. Any of my readers going to Boston Comic-Con this year?

Cosplay Rap? Sure, Why Not!

Apparently self-made music videos featuring cosplayers at comic book conventions are the new thing.

Meet the rapper Kid Apocalypse, who wrote a very specific, very continuity-heavy rap song, then filmed it at the Emerald City Comic-Con. So the next time you visit a convention and go in costume, you may get grabbed for a music video, it seems.

Dance, My Pretties

The London Comic-Con loves its awesome cosplay videos. And I do too!

Was it just me, or was there an odd number girls making out in that video? I guess they just know their audience…

I Would Gladly Call Any of These Geeks…Maybe

Getting cosplayers at comic book conventions to lip-sync songs is quickly becoming a trend that I very much enjoy. This one was put together at the recent Wizard World Chicago. It’s not as professionally made as this one or this one, but it’s still a quality number. They even got a Bruce Campbell cameo! That alone is worth all the Nerd Dollars in China.

Cosplayers Are Awesome, Also Musical

As pictures of me dressed like Henchman 21 from The Venture Bros. can attest, I’m a cosplay enthusiast. That’s where nerds and geeks dress like their favorite characters at conventions. It’s a ton of fun. While a group at a London convention last October put together a musical tribute to cosplaying sung to the tune of Jon Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life’. It’s quite similar and done by the same people as this video from a different convention singing Pink’s ‘Raise Your Glass’. And while the earlier video is much better, the new one is still pretty kickass.

Meanwhile, I’m both freaked out and turned on by that chick in the bitchin’ Knuckles costume.
