The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Total Bros!

New trailer! More Turtles! Hints of plot! The Shredder! Hot Leonardo action!

I’m not…I’m not sure how I feel about this trailer. This movie is either going to be awesome, and everything is going to work. Or it’s going to fall apart and be this weird, style-obsessed freakshow. The Turtles look cool…but they also look kind of weird. And the humor is…exactly the kind of humor we should probably expect from this movie!

I don’t know, alright! I don’t know!

What do you think?

Some Social Media Twerp Probably Got a Raise for This Ninja Turtles Tweeting Idea

Update: Donatello!

There’s a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the way – possibly today – but in order to see it, we’ve all got to start tweeting about the movie. Specifically, the producers want us to Tweet about each individual turtle, thereby unlocking a series of new posters, ending with the trailer itself. Click the link to see for yourself.

It’s a nifty idea, and I bet some kid the studio hired to be their ‘social media technician’ came up with the idea. Those are real jobs, I’m almost positive.

Mostly I just care about these new posters, which show off the full Turtles! Of course, the best turtle, Leonardo, was unlocked first. Donatello came last, so I’m gonna post him up here on top!

NEEEEEEEEEERD!

And he looks freakin’ awesome – except for the nose. Those noses are definitely weird.

But overall, I like the Turtles’ new looks. They’re different, and different is good. Click the jump to see Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo!

Star Wars By Way of Guardians of the Galaxy

Some Internet genius mashed up Star Wars with one of those awesome Guardians of the Galaxy trailers. The result is nothing short of brilliance.

Someone give The Unusual Suspect a medal, because he (or they) have won the Internet for today. That was probably the best trailer mash-up I have ever seen. And it makes me re-appreciate Star Wars like never before!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/21/14

Now this was a good week. I love comics. I’m pretty sure that’s kind of obvious, what with this blog. And it’s weeks like this that remind me why I love them so much. So many good issues, so many fun characters, such good writing and art. Comics are so brilliant these days. And I’m sure I’m barely scratching the surface as I stick to mostly Marvel and DC. There’s probably a world of indie titles that are even better.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the week where I dive headfirst into indie comics. Instead, this is the week where Marvel and DC put out some great books! Not only to we get a couple of big finales in Uncanny X-Men and Thor: God of Thunder, but Wonder Woman has a pretty amazing pre-battle sequence. Quality comics, the lot of them. Over at DC, I was delighted with the new issue of Harley Quinn. And even Batman Eternal managed a few surprises. Can you believe it? Of course, the issue was still pretty crummy, but who doesn’t like surprises? The latest issue of Original Sin was also pretty crummy, but it had a neat surprise too.

Comic Book of the Week would have to be Silver Surfer #3 by Dan Slott and the Family Allred. It’s the most Doctor Whoish issue yet, and that’s just wonderful.

Comic Reviews: Batman Eternal #11, Batwoman #32, Harley Quinn #7, Original Sin #4, Silver Surfer #3, Thor: God of Thunder #23, Uncanny X-Men #22, and Wonder Woman #32.

Spooky Doctor Who Song is Spooky

So I was cruising around the Interwebs today on my day off from work and stumbled upon this nifty Doctor Who song. It’s a few months old, but perhaps you haven’t seen it yet!

I like the tune. It’s spooky and kind of neat. It’s exactly the sort of thing I’d be watching on my day off. It was posted by a fella named Alex Day from his band Chameleon Circuit.
