The Geekest Epic Rap Battle: Doc Brown vs. The Doctor!
I haven’t posted any Epic Rap Battles of History videos on my blog before, but this one is an absolute must! It’s Doc Brown from Back to the Future vs. The Doctor!
For my money, the Doctor nailed it!
I’ve always enjoyed the Epic Rap Battles of History videos. They’re cleverly written, wickedly funny and just plain neat. I never had anything against posting them on my blog, just never got around to it – until now! So who do you think won? Let me know in the comments!
Saying Goodbye to the Ponds
I wasn’t as broken up about the loss of Amy and Rory Pond in Doctor Who as I have been about some of the previous companions, but I’ve no doubt that if they’d actually filmed and included this deleted scene, I would have been in tears!
SPOILERS, of course, for what happened to the Ponds…though I think everyone already knows that the Ponds were leaving Doctor Who.
That was heart-breaking! The final fate of the Ponds, as well as a goodbye to Brian Pond. This scene was apparently written but never filmed. That’s definitely Rory’s voice, so someone toyed around with it. Gloriously sad scene. They should have included it in the episode.
What did the rest of you think about the mid-season finale of Doctor Who Season 7? I’ve been toying with the idea of writing a review of all six episodes, but I dunno…mostly because I wasn’t too impressed or elated by Season 7 so far. But what did you guys think? I know I’ve got some Whovians in my readership. Let me know in the comments!
The Web Series That Isn’t Inspector Spacetime!
Crikey, Inspector! The first episode is up!
If you haven’t been following along, this is the “Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time.” It’s a Doctor Who parody – but a little more complicated than that.
The original parody – called Inspector Spacetime – comes from the TV show Community on NBC. Great show, funny parody. Then the actor who played Inspector Spacetime on Community decided to turn the character into a webseries – except for the fact that he did not own the character of Inspector Spacetime or have permission from Community or NBC to turn their character into a webseries.
The lawyers got involved and put a stop to actor Travis Richey’s plan. But Richey didn’t want to give up on his webseries idea, so he simply changed the name to that much longer name up there. But he’s kept the ‘Inspector’ part, as well as several other ideas/concepts from the Community parody.
So he may not be able to call his webseries ‘Inspector Spacetime’, but Richey’s just gonna go ahead and make it anyway. More power to him, I say! The world needs such a fun Doctor Who parody.
Ood on the Loo and More Pond Life
I tried to keep up with the Pond Life series this week, I really did. But then I had an eye exam on Wednesday to get my driver’s license renewed, then on Thursday I took my car into the shop and finally got a few things fixed that I’ve been putting off for years. My week just disappeared! So let’s just run through them all at once, shall we?
Here we have Pond Life Part 3:
And here we have Pond Life Part 4:
And let’s not forget Part 5:
Things are not looking good for the Ponds, especially since we already know this is their last season, and the creative types have promised tears for their goodbye!
So is everybody else super-psyched for the start of Season 7 this weekend? I’m torn as to whether or not I’ll watch. My girlfriend and I have this thing where we like to wait until the end of the season and then watch all the episodes in a marathon. But I’m tempted to tell her to bugger off and just watch! Oh wait…she reads this…
Doctor Who Makes Time Travel Fun Again
The Ponds continues with Part 2 released today. Seems like these are just going to be nifty, stand alone vignettes about The Doctor, Amy and Rory. Well if they’re all as clever as this one, I’ll keep posting them. In Pond Life: Part 2, the Doctor goes to meet up with Amy and Rory in the middle of an important mission…only to mess up a little on the time travel! Oopsie!
