The Space Stallions Will Save Us

I’m not sure sure what this video is – other than incredibly awesome. It may be the single greatest parody video of all time, mocking the cartoons of the 80s with brilliance and wit. Space Stallions is so perfectly made that it could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Silverhawks or Voltron of He-Man! But I don’t think it’s just a parody video, since it has a website – one that doesn’t seem to loud all the way. The Youtube page says it’s a bachelor film project. If so, I hope they got an A.

But whatever it is, come, watch and enjoy. If only this had really been a part of our childhood. Save us Mother Mustang!

New Legend of Korra Clips Cause Massive Squeeing

The Internet in all its mighty wisdom has provided us with three clips from Avatar: The Legend of Korra, the highly-anticipated sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Thanks to Topless Robot for providing these, because they are stellar! The animation looks fantastic, the character of Korra seems like fun and the way the world looks simply stunning. Decades have passed since Aang emerged as the Avatar, and the world has definitely changed.

Crowded cities, cars, dog/polar bears things; this is going to be an exciting television event – whenever it debuts. Hopefully sometime this year. For more information on the show, check out this Wiki. I know I’m going to be scouring it for details later tonight.

For now, enjoy these clips!

First we have Korra kicking incredible ass as a firebender:

Second we have Korra kicking incredible ass as the Avatar:

And finally we have an exciting clip with the sort of cameo that will make your head spin and your heart well up with joy. Don’t watch if you don’t want to be spoiled. But it’s definitely worth watching anyway!

6 Fun Things I’m Looking Forward to in 2012

If we don’t count the bottle of Mountain Dew that I finished off that was still left over from 2011, then so far my 2012 New Year’s resolution to not drink soda is doing just fine! Thanks for asking. But a barren year of nothing to drink but water, milk and the tears of hungry orphans is not the only thing to look forward to in 2012. There’s a whole lot of crap going on, some of it better than others.

Also, it’s supposedly the last year on Earth. So there’s that.

Star Wars in 3D is not on this list

2011 was a great year for geeky pop culture. We had an amazing year of superhero movies, with Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Green Lantern and the X-Men: First Class. TV was pretty neat, seeing the end of Smallville and the start of Game of Thrones. Everything from video games, comic books, novels and horse racing had a lot going on last year. Can 2012 even stack up? Well it’s going to give it the old college try. Here are 6 Fun Things I’m Looking Forward to in 2012. But rather than just individual things, they’re more like categories.

Christmas with Henchmen 21 and 24

The best Henchmen in the whole world, #s 21 and 24 from The Venture Bros. sing a joyous Christmas song! It seems old, but it’s still pretty awesome. If you’re a fan of The Venture Bros, this is a real treat. Plus it’s both Christmas and henchman themed, which is perfect for my blog today! So yay!

The Most Adorable Web Comic Ever!

Prepare to have your heartstrings tugged and re-tugged in what has to be the most adorable, heart-warming web comic ever captured in the medium. At least if you’re into video games like I am. It’s also Christmas-themed, so that works out perfectly this week. It’s from VGCats, which I don’t read regularly, but is still a well-regarded web comic. You’re going to have to click to enlarge this one, but it’s definitely worth it. It’s called ‘The Perfect Gift’.

Or if that comic is not to your liking, here it is in animated form. Though like most things, the original is better.

So maybe you’ll be willing to give VGCats a try this Christmas.

Or she's gonna pound you, I guess
