There Should Have Been a Heart Village in The Last Airbender

Of all the elements and their equivalent continents in Avatar: The Last Airbender, there should have been a Heart Village. Tucked all the way down in some corner of the world, maybe on an island all of its own, the Aang Gang should have run into some heart-benders for an episode.

The Power of Love!

This is a silly idea, I know, but I think it’s one of my better fan ideas.

The four elements of Avatar: The Last Airbender are Earth, Fire, Wind and Water. They even call it ‘earth-bending’ instead of dirt-bending, rock-bending, ground-bending or anything else. And we don’t even know if their planet is called ‘Earth’. But does the phrase ‘Earth, Fire, Wind and Water’ sound familiar to anyone else?

Ma-Ti was always the coolest one

Exactly!

It would have been the greatest geek reference in the history of television. A Captain Planet Easter Egg in the middle of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

And there is still time with Legend of Korra.

Legend of Dorra

I don’t watch enough of the MAD! cartoon show on Cartoon Network. It seems they’ve got some pretty quality geeks in the writers’ room!

That’s a mish-mash of Legend of Korra and Dora the Explorer for anyone who doesn’t get the references. Also Dora? Korra? How did no one think of this any sooner?

Bat Man of Shanghai Proves that Batman Works in Any Setting

Did you ever imagine Batman as a vigilante in early 20th century China? Well somebody did!

That delightful bit of insanity comes from the DC Nation animation block because…I have no idea. Somebody with the power to make cartoons thought of it, made it and aired it. I don’t think it has anything to do with anything. But wasn’t it still pretty awesome?

Just Darth Maul Being a Badass

The next season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming up soon, and even though I don’t watch it, I love me some Darth Maul. I love Darth Maul so much that I even bought and read one of the novels about him. And I absolutely read that Dark Horse comic book series that was released around the time of Episode 1. So seeing more Darth Maul compels me to post about The Clone Wars.

Also, Darth Maul vs. Palpatine is extremely badass.

Star Wars Jokes Will Outlive Us All

The pop culture comedians of today continue to mine Star Wars for every possible bit of parody and humor they can find. Apparently there’s going to be a new animated series based solely around Star Wars jokes. It’s made by the guys from Robot Chicken, who’ve already had great success mining Star Wars jokes. I guess they’ve found some more.

It’s going to be called Star Wars: Detours.

There’s no premiere date set or even a network on which it will air. But those boys sure are making it. Looks…alright. There were some funny jokes in that trailer. And you can watch some clips here. But there comes a time when you’ve got to push away from the table and admit when you’re full.

Here’s the show’s description:

Star Wars Detours™ is an animated comedy that explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away. There are no Empires striking back or attacking clones here. Instead, Star Wars Detours focuses on the universe’s regular folks and their everyday problems… which, to be fair, do frequently involve famous bounty hunters, crazed Ewoks, and even a Dark Lord of the Sith.

And oddly enough, they’re very specific on the fact that it will be set between the two trilogies. So…more Star Wars!
