Super Bowl Trailers Are Always a Hoot
Last night was the Super Bowl and I didn’t watch because I never watch. Instead, I finally saw Edgar Wright’s The Running Man. It wasn’t that good. I haven’t been a big fan of Wright’s post-Simon Pegg work. But I had a fine and entertaining night, because all the good trailers end up on YouTube pretty much immediately.
So let’s watch a bunch of them!
Like Project Hail Mary. This one should be good. From the writer of The Martian, directed by Lord and Miller. This should be a blast! Don’t watch this trailer, though, if you don’t wany any movie spoilers whatsoever.
I think Project Hail Mary looks really good and should be a treat to watch. It’s got as good a filmmaking pedigree as any movie can in this day and age. And it’s a big space epic. Should be fun.
Project Hail Mary comes to theaters on March 20.
Speaking of space movies, how about Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day. No real spoilers in this trailer.
I have no idea what this movie is about. Aliens? Invasion? They’re already among us? Your guess is as good as mine. I don’t even know if I’m gonna go see this one in the theaters. I suppose I’ll wait and see what the public reaction is like.
Disclosure Day comes to theaters on June 12.
Next up is…um…Minions & Monsters.
What is even happening? I’m no Minions completionist. I think there might be a Despicable Me I’ve missed. Perhaps I’ve even missed a Minions movie or two. I dunno. But wow. That trailer was all over the place and just sorta weird. But I suppose that might also be the point…
Minions & Monsters comes to theaters on July 1.
