6 Comic Book Superheroes Taylor Swift Should Date
Taylor Swift is the most popular celebrity in the world right now and everyone is trying their damndest to capitalize on her popularity — especially when it comes to her dating relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. Man oh man, the NFL is going all-in on Taylor/Travis hype, hoping to ride those coattails as far as they can.
So why shouldn’t I get a piece of that pie?
I don’t watch NFL games and I don’t have any interest in Taylor Swift’s music or celebrity, but I’ve got a blog to run here and I’ve got an SEO to chase! So how about a List of Six that involves Taylor Swift in some way? Like…who she’s dating…and…which superheroes she should date! BAM! I’m a marketing genius!
Though make no mistake, this list is not a criticism of Taylor Swift. I sat through The Eras Tour movie and her music isn’t for me, but I don’t have anything against her as a person. She seems really cool, actually. I’m totally in favor of her re-recording all her old music out of spite. That was cool as heck. This is just a silly comic book listicle I’m throwing together because I think it’s funny to chase this madness!
So join me after the jump for six comic book superheroes that Taylor Swift could/should date in the comics to give superhero comics more publicity!
6. Young Superman
Who better for Taylor Swift to date than Superman? Granted, Clark Kent is a happily married man. But his son, Jon Kent, who also goes by Superman, is potentially on the market. The last time I read a Jon Kent comic, he had a boyfriend, but that dude is not as cool as Taylor Swift. Though now that I’m writing this out, I think Jon Kent is a teenager, right? And Taylor Swift is in her 30s? Alright, I completely misjudged the ages of the people involved in this hypothetical list, so maybe they wouldn’t make a good couple. How old is Superboy?
5. Ant-Man
Scott Lang once dated comic book pop superstar Darla Deering after they were part of a substitute Fantastic Four together. So maybe Darla talks with her pal Taylor and she gets interested in our sad sack superhero single dad. Of course, Scott and Darla broke up because he’s not a very exciting guy and a bunch of stuff happened in his life, but they eventually reconnected on good terms. And it’s not like Taylor Swift only dates really popular guys, so why not a low stringer like Ant-Man? Wait…I don’t really know anything about the guys Taylor dates. Does she only date Tony Stark types?
4. NFL SuperPro
Is Taylor Swift specifically into NFL players? Is that a thing with her? I’m sure the NFL would be happy if she were. So why not Taylor and the NFL superhero NFL SuperPro? He was a former football star who suffered grave injuries while saving kids from a thing. Then he got football-based super powers during a robbery or something. I don’t know, this Wikipedia article is a little confusing. The point is, dating NFL SuperPro — real name Phil Grayfield — would be a great way to continue the Taylor/NFL hype machine, and isn’t that what everybody really wants in the end?
3. Nightwing
Dick Grayson is the friendly, most liked superhero in all of comics. He’s around Taylor’s age (or maybe not?), he’s super handsome, and he’s the son of a billionaire, so they could definitely move in the same circles. Dick is also at the heart of a very contentious romance storyline. Is he better with Starfire or Batgirl? Both relationships have their fans and their canons. So why not add one more and have him linked with Taylor Swift? That would really get the fans riled up. Plus, what better way to get Dick Grayson in a movie finally than by guaranteeing a Taylor Swift cameo? Or theme song! Think of the synergy!
2. Spider-Man
Peter Parker is single these days, so why not start dating the hottest pop superstar on the planet? In the current Spidey comics, there’s a whole thing going on with Mary Jane and a guy named Paul, and Peter is single again. He’s previously been able to get together with super models and cat burglars, so why not pop music superstars? I bet Taylor would like his sad sack style. Wait, is that too much like Scott Lang? Do Spider-Man and Ant-Man have too much in common when it comes to dating? Still, Spider-Man is more popular in the bigger picture sense, so more fitting for Taylor Swift.
1. Dazzler
Did you know that there’s a whole subculture surrounding the idea that Taylor Swift is on the LGBTQ+ spectrum? I know this because I looked up The Eras Tour on the movies Subreddit and now my Reddit is inundated with Taylor Swift posts. So why not lean into that and have Taylor hook up with Dazzler, Marvel’s own pop music superstar? I don’t think Dazzler is bisexual, but who wouldn’t be for Taylor Swift? Honestly, why don’t we have this team-up comic already? Eminem met the Punisher that one time. Why hasn’t Dazzler gone on tour with Taylor Swift? Does Taylor Swift have opening acts? Why not do a comic story where Dazzler has her own Eras Tour?
Basically, I want more Dazzler comics, and hooking her up with Taylor Swift would be a great way to make that happen! We’re getting more Kansas City Chiefs games, right? Isn’t that how it works?
