Once Upon a Time, I Actually Liked Batman Forever
I was a big Robin fan even back then, plus I was young and stupid. I’d like to think I’m smarter now, but I do still love Robin.
Thankfully, we have Cinema Sins to take care of all our movie taunting now. I tried to rewatch Batman Forever a few years ago, because I still had fond-ish memories, but I couldn’t get through the first 5 minutes.

This may be heresy but I actually like more (or hate less) “Batman and Robin” more than “Forever”.
Forever tried to do a lot of things at once, doing neither particularly well, the tone was all over the place and Two-face and Riddler were essentially just another impersonation of the Joker.
B&R meanwhile managed to keep the same tone for most of the movie, yes the tone was “campy” but still, it knew what it wanted to be and to me it manages to cross into the “So bad is good” camp.
I would tell you kudos for sticking up for a movie you kinda sorta like, but both films exist in a sort of negative-thought processing portion of my brain, and I’m not sure I can actually picture Batman and Robin in any sort of legitimate way. It’s kind of just…bllleeeyyyygghhhh…
Oh is still bad, there is no denying that, I would never go out of my way to watch it, but bad is better than terrible and if I were given the choice of watching “Batman Forever” once and “Batman and Robin” twice, maybe someone is trying to torture me or something, I would go for the latter.
