Doctor Who Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Now that’s a misleading title, isn’t it? But I’m trying my hand at Internet headline trickery today with the news that David Tennant has been cast as the Purple Man in the upcoming Jessica Jones show on Netflix.

I wonder if they’ll paint his skin

I’m a big David Tennant fan, so I’m sure he’ll be particularly awesome in the role. I never read the original Alias story for Jessica Jones, but the Purple Man is particularly evil. He’s got the super-power to control other people like puppets with nothing but his mind…and those kinds of powers get pretty intense and evil in an R-rated story. We’ll see how far Marvel and Netflix want to go with Jessica Jones.

    Alias was amazing. But Tennant as purple man. He will do good, but the one villain i truly despise. His casting means this show will most likely be MA. Seeing this cast, makes me cringe. I wanted him in the MCU but not for the stuff he will probably do on Jessica Jones. At least it is staying loyal?

      I haven’t heard, but I doubt it will go as far as Alias went. The Walking Dead didn’t go as dark and rapey as the Governor was in the comic.

        still, one my favorite actors as a rapey evil dickbag. I don’t want to hate David in any role, but he is such a good actor that he will be amazing at it and i will despise his role
