My Favorite Iron Man Armor
Today is Iron Man 3 day! The film has been getting great reviews, and I’ll be seeing it after work this afternoon. I’m very excited, and I’ll post my full review later tonight. But just to give my blog a little taste of Iron Man today, I’ve decided to share my favorite Iron Man armor!
Chillaxing like an iron boss
Ever since Iron Man was created back in the 1960s, he’s had dozens of armors. Upwards of 30 are going to appear in the new movie. Tony Stark is a genius inventor, and he’s always tinkering. Plus you just have to admit that Iron Man is a pretty rad look. That red/gold style is flashy and awesome.

It’s Ultimate Iron Man!
So ultimate
The Ultimates were an attempt by Marvel in the early 00s to write a realistic version of the Avengers. Characters like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk were treated like real people who might live in the real world, and it’s one of my favorite comics of all times. They were still superheroes, gods and anger monsters, but writer Mark Millar and artist Bryan Hitch spun them in a way that might actually make sense in the real world. It was fantastic. And almost all of the Marvel movies have definitely been influenced by The Ultimates.
The realistic Ultimate Iron Man looked great.
His weak spot is his forearms
Ultimate Iron Man wasn’t like the one you see in the movies, though Tony Stark is almost exactly the same. Both Tonys are smart, snarky, funny, charming, and very heroic. But in the movie, the Iron Man armor is sleek, stylish and fits Tony like a glove. But Ultimate Iron Man is a big, bulky vehicle that Tony Stark has to be loaded into, and it has to be launched from a launch pad like a rocket ship. Tony needs a whole team of engineers to help him out. I found that to be a wonderfully realistic and just a fascinating way to interpret Iron Man.
Plus I just love the look of the suit. I love the shape of the helmet, all of the gray areas where the mechanics outweighed the need for flashy colors, which makes the flashy red and yellow stand out all the more.

Stealth Iron Man, good choice!
The Silver Centurion armor and the West Coast Avengers period was really when I started enjoying Iron Man. There is still a soft spot for the briefcase armor from the films.
That briefcase was a pretty neat effect.
My favourite suit is the Original Iron Man suit. I mean, come on! It started everything!
Like the goodness of original Coca-Cola.
