Avengers Legos Look Awesome

Toy Fair 2012 is happening right now in New York City. It’s like a big, exciting toy convention showing off all the upcoming action figures and other knick knacks we can buy. I’ve been flipping through a lot of the pictures off the convention floor, but so far the action figures just look boring. The Amazing Spider-Man and The Avengers movies look like they’ll be producing the most basic action figures imaginable. We’re going to get a ton of Spider-Man figures, and then the various Avengers. Boring.

Fortunately, there are going to be some badass Legos.

I love what they've done with the Hulk

It’s like childhood dreams given physical form. Captain America? Hulk? The Avengers? they look so completely badass! Everyone except Iron Man, though. He looks stupid. But check out Black Widow’s hair. And Hawkeye looks sweet too. Plus turning Hulk into a ‘beast’ instead of just a regular mini-fig was brilliant.

Check out some actual Lego models after the jump!

First up is the Quinjet, the iconic Avengers plane. Not everybody on the team can fly (or leap tall buildings in a single bound), so the Avengers us Quinjets to get from one place to another. The’ll be in the movie, so they get their own Lego model.

So his model comes with mini-figs for the two Avengers who can fly?

That looks badass. It looks like a tough model, not one that would break apart at a moment’s notice. I’m pretty sure there back of it opens as well to reveal a cargo area. So it looks beautiful. I especially like that cockpit up front. The problem is that this model will probably cost like $50. No thanks.

But sometimes flying isn’t the best option. Sometimes the Avengers like to go off-road!

Loki-level horsepower!

This model just looks silly. I think it’s from a specific movie scene, where Loki escapes from a truck convoy, so that’s why it’s included. But it’s just a generic truck. At least we learn that we’ll get some Loki mini-figs. And I can confirm that Iron Man looks dumb (all red, really?), whereas Hawkeye looks sweet. Those bow & arrow accessories have been around for decades, and this is their most perfect use ever. Too bad a generic Lego truck would be stupid.

This next model, on the other hand, is perfection!

Bad to the Ass

Captain America has long since rocked a motorcycle. He had one in last year’s movie, and he drove one in all those crappy Cap movies from the late 80s and early 90s. He even rode one in the comic books. So this is a fantastic little set. I’ve always loved Lego motorcycles. They built them in such a way as to have the mini-figs slide into the seat and grip the handlebars, rather than just standing or sitting on them like normal Lego vehicles. Plus Cap just looks neat.

Finally we have a big playset.

It's either the Helicarrier, the Raft or maybe just a Wal-Mart

Lego playsets suck. I much prefer models and vehicles of real items instead of a generic playset with various fragile ‘rooms’ or play areas. Like a cell for Loki, or whatever the heck the rest of those platforms are supposed to be. This set is going to be very expensive, but definitely not worth it. Hopefully it’s not the only Lego Avengers model that has the Hulk.

So what do you think? Eager to guy any of these Lego models?
