Happy Birthday to a Very Special Wombat!

Today is the birthday of my girlfriend and guest poster 1wombat4u, otherwise known as Alyssa! So seeing as how this is my blog and I get to decide what to post, I figured I’d just put up a little announcement about how special and awesome she is. This is my little corner of the Internets, and today it’s all about my special little wombat.

That guy parties way too hard

Feel free to wish her a Happy Birthday in the comments!

Alyssa has been my constant companion and best friend for more than 8 years now, even if she spent part of those years time-traveling. She’s the biggest nerd I know, and I’m not just saying that because she constantly kicks my ass at video games. She is incredibly smart. I used to think I was smart, but the stuff this woman knows, remembers and can reference in a moment’s notice astounds me! We’ll just be talking about our day, and (Bam!) she’ll hit me with a South Park quote from several seasons ago that absolutely fits the conversation.

I am floored by how funny she is. You’ve heard of a razor-sharp wit? Alyssa is a Masamune!

Yet however improbably, however unlikely and however astronomically at odds with my lot in life, this total babe likes me! Can you believe it? I have to remind myself of that fact every day. How did I get so lucky to fall for a girl who not only loves Doctor Who and the X-Men, but would probably cosplay as an Amy Pond version of Psylocke if I asked her. Not only has she personally introduced me to several of my favorite TV shows, but she single-handedly got me back into reading with a wealth of new authors I never would have considered otherwise.

Alyssa Wombat is my best friend, the love of my life and the coolest babe on the planet! And today is her birthday. I just thought you should know.

I wish I had known this book was real before Googling 'Birthday Wombat'. This would have made an adorable present
